Report: | An intriguing encounter between Dulwich in mid-table and the top team Cascades kept the spectators on the edge of their proverbial seats, first with the bookmakers taking healthy odds on whether this would be a no-show by the visitors and second on the matches that went to the wire.
Excellent squash was played all round. It would be difficult to single out a game but the second rubber produced the closest match and the most elegant squash. Harsum always seems to be a little too far away for the ball but not only does he manage to retrieve it he does so to strength. His opponenet was equal to this playing technically emaculate squash to take the match in the fifth. The same sequence was to follow for Olly and Ash at third string and Ben and Mo at first string. Though the latter did almost produce a Dulwich victory when Mo shook hands, shook his head and walked off court at 0-3 in the third game trailing 0-2 in the set. How very odd. Maybe he misheard a call but realising the error he manfully came back onto court to win the next three games.
Nic lost 1-3 and blamed an impending flu though his opponent may differ with that analysis and at number five Dulwich secured avictory 3-0.
Close games at 3-2 all of which could have gone the other way - what aresult that would have been. Well there is always the return match. |
