Report: | Parklangley's good form continued with a high scoring, if close, victory over Bromley CC. Valentines Day brought no love out of Gerald who dispatched a disinterested Phil for only four points in the 2nd sting match. Next door a real battle was in progress. Despite leading 2-0 and 7-2, Steve conspired to lose to a battling Michael in the 3rd string. With Steve unable to take the excellent chances to win in both the 3rd and 4th games an exciting match was finished by Michael in the 5th. 3-2 scores were repeated in the 4th and 5th rubbers. An excellent, high quality game was won by Danny 10/9 in the fifth game, in a match that Malcolm could have won after match points in the last, but after being two games down would take the points impressively earned for the team. Likewise Keith slipped to Alan in the fifth in a well matched game where he brought some great winning shots out of the visitor. The first game proved vital in the 1st sting match. After leading 8-4, Mike was unable to convert and Kevin motored on though the second and into the third to take the 5 bonus points for Parklangley. The admirably spirited and well contested match was rounded off in suitable style in the bar over burgers and beer and dismal attempts at humor from the visiting number 5…... |
