Report: | St Valentine's Day took its toll on the good looking, romantic lads of Sundridge Park. As for the visitors, for some inexplicable reason all the Bromley LTSCII squad were available tonight! Kevin returned to the Bromley team with authority as Gary Church was finding his feet after a long lay-off. Peter had no such excuse, again finding difficulty in countering a hard-hitter such as Brian who quickly found length and touch. Simon, after a shaky start, used his boasts and drops effectively against Gary Jacobs who countered using the length and width of the court. Unfortunately Simon had the benefit of greater mobility too. With Bromley helped by a Sundridge 'no-show' at no. 5, Ray going off to help Bromley I at home, the result hinged on the no. 1 pair, closely matched Pascal and Dave. It seemed to be going Pascal's way after he had just lost out in the exciting first game. However, Dave was just that bit more resourceful as Pascal was tiring by the 4th game and struggled to reach shots that he would have punished earlier in the match. Bromley was fortunate to win this fixture. The meal of steak hot-pot was delectable. Well done the Sundridge Park chef. Oh yes, and well done St Valentine! |
