Report: | This was the only team Cascades lost against in the first half, and with Stuart challenging for my sicknote crown, it looked like it might go the same way in the first match of the second.
First on was "buddy" Stimson against Mike. I had managed to wind "buddy" up enough with his poor record at 4 othat he went on like a steam train, hitting nicks from all over the court - sorry Mike.
Next was BBGB and Mark. Bob started well with mark seeming out o fthe game. Mark then raised his game and BBGB was left wretching after some long rallies...this made it 2 all!...After a few errors from Mark in 5th Bob clinched his second win of the season. Well played Bob.
Me and Kevin next. Kevin never seemed to get into his flow and Ash kept the pressure up to win a 3-0 for Cascades.
Tony "Steptoe" Lake lived up to his nickname with a "grumpy old man" approach to his game. He was clearly not enjoying the match as Gerald went 2 up. Tony managed to pick himself up though and clawed back to win 3-2, keeping his 100% record alive.
Final game of the night was the best. Zeb played out of his skin to take mo to the wire, with some excellent rallies and pickups. In the end Zeb had worked that bit harder and Mo stole the 5th.
A good friendly nights squash and beers - that makes it one all! |
