Report: | A very enjoyable evening of squash which resulted in an Amida victory.
1. Didn't see any of this but it was apparently the high tempo, high quality game everyone was expecting. Perhaps if Zeb had called for a stroke at game-point up in the first the result might have been different but the world-renowned Parklangley sense of fair-play compelled him to play on.
2. Really eenjoyable game for your scribe. The final two (close) games decided the whole match and although Kevin played well Martin deserved to take the result and squeezed over the line.... twice.
3. Fergus back in top form and hitting an variety of winners from all over the place, including a host of serves which died in the corner. Pete battled well as expected and was unlucky not to nick the first then Fergus pushed on in the second two.
4. Fantastic display from Trev at 4, after being out for a number of weeks your scribe was worried when he went 4-0 down inside the first first minute. Once Trev started getting the ball behind Ed the match began to swing his way and some lovely drops on a cold court took him home.
5. Didn't see much of this one due to marking although Mike commented that he played well and had he nicked the 4th might have gone on and won the lot, he didn't, Fitz did and then promptly vanished into the night.
Another good squashesque event, even if the result didn't quite go our way. A very high standard of squash from No1-5 and as appears the norm in this league all matches were played in a good spirit with enjoyable chat in the bar afterwards.
See you at the return |
