Report: | A new season and a new team. Bromley 2nds or was it their 1sts that flew in to SE22 to contest this Division 2 opening match.
Dulwich were not about to roll over as Bromley discovered and had Winning seen his five setter through an interesting finish was in prospect. A tremendous effort by Winning though to take his match to the line and similarly by all those playing. Olly and Matt again going to five sets produced some tremendous squash as they did in the last match of the summer.
Courage, skill, sweat, blood and tears were all in evidence as Dulwich 3rds, yes that is not a misprint, battled against a Bromley team featuring three 1st team players. But Bromley won as logic dictated and we all await the return match by when the 1st team boys will be cup tied.
There is a friendly and healthy rivalry developing here and not just on court. The Bromley boys felt a little peeved when they discovered that cheesecake was not on the menu but no doubt that will be put right on the return visit. |
