Report: | With some of Bromley's higher nominations unavailable Bromley expected a whipping on the night and Kevin and Peter were not disappointed! The other three matches were far tighter and more entertaining especially in view of the three contrasting styles of the Bromley players against the conventional deep court rallying of Tunbridge Wells. Kelvin broke up Mark's game with his drop shots but Mark broke away once he was allowed to drive. By contrast Miles enjoyed his endless rallies with a tireless Ian in a match that was far closer than the score line suggests. Ray was the star for Bromley though, in a topsy turvey match with Alex's finely tuned backhand drive seeming likely to dominate Ray's defensive drops. But Ray dug deep and mixed in some crisp drives, finally winning with an unreturnable volley-drop. Tunbridge Wells march on while Bromley struggle to avoid relegation. |
