Special mentions to Chris Morgan, battling severe gout. Luckily, John Flavell's knee seemed to have a touch of it too. John and Paul enjoyed a very friendly encounter behind closed and frosted glass doors. No spectators or markers allowed (or necessary), although some did try to peek and clap through the cracks in the door.
Of those that played (excluding many Knole injuries caused by failure of lower limbs to support the extra weight), several people did seem to be struggling to shake off the Christmas bulges. So, perhaps unlucky that the stew lady was on top form. Such an improvement over the 'dog hair' sandwiches of the previous pub incumbent. |
