Report: | Knole's best results this winter have come with the benefit of injuries - often on both sides. this week was no exception.
Mark at 3 had 'an achilles' but had suffered a good week in the markets, so was reasonably happy only to lose his pride in a 0-3 tin-fest against Mark Foster lookalike Robin.
Chris at 5 benefited from 'the back of a knee', otherwise The Priory Div. 4. no. 5 'Player of the half season' might have shown his class more than he did.
Mike was unlucky to meet a sharp new recruit in Craig, who looked to be out of his league.
Chris at 1 was suffering from man flu and would rather have not gone on. So, it was up to Gary to keep the home fires burning. He did so, with a nail-biting comeback win that must have helped burn off some of the excess Christmas pud.
That just left 'sicknote' Chris to wrap it up with a comfortable match-winning decider. If we can just persuade all the other clubs to roll over, Knole might be able to give him some decent matches in Div 3. next season?! |
