Report: | Last night it was the turn of Bromley Cricket to show BLTSC how to play Priory squash so they showed up in force and did not disappoint. Graham efficiently disposed of Tommy who, at least in spirit, was still on his camping holiday. Kevin looked like upsetting the form-book by matching Ali shot for shot and playing to an excellent length and width. After 5 match balls he clearly took pity on Ali who was up for merciless ragging from his mates if he lost the only rubber, and dangled a couple of easy opportunities that Ali, an old campaigner, could capitalize on. Meanwhile Dan was making Ray run like a whippet interspersed with supersonic low drives while Ray took a breather. Next victim was Gary, fresh-faced and agile who after an early clutch of points from some neat low boasts, left court in 30 mins wringing wet and cream-crackered. Tony looked ready to play again. Could anything be more one-sided than Gary's third game? Yes, it could: Mark's first game! Indeed his first (and only) point in the second drew a round of applause. Neil looks sleeker than when I last saw him play and although Mark is a fighter and was playing quality squash, he had no answer to Neil's consistency, accuracy and movement about the court. I do hope that this is BLTSC's worst tonking of the season. Hmmm! |
