Report

Report:Off sick today so this weeks report will be short but not sweet.

With Cascades and BCC on the same points there was a big incentive for both teams.

Both McMeckan's at numbers 2 & 4 were first on. Ali started slow but soon realised how to beat Bob and went onto to win 3-0.

Meanwhile, McMeckan junior did his familiar trick of snatching defeat from the hands of victory and lost 2-3.

The gap in age between the number 5's was like that between granddad (BCC) and grandson (Cascades) and so, it turn out, was the winning margin in spite of a brave fight back in the third by granddad. Grandson 3-0.

As the number 3's were locked in a titanic struggle that went to the fifth game, I feared the worst for Dan given his battle with fitness. However, he proved me wrong and went onto win 3-2.

So at 2-2 it was down to the number 1's.

The early games were close with Tony (Cascades) just easing ahead 2-1. In the fourth game Tony (Cascades) went up a level whilst I went down several. Tony (Cascades) won the fourth game comfortably for a well deserved win. It was shame that the Cascades non-playing marker spoilt what was a very good natured game with an atrocious marking decision on the penultimate point. Inexplicably the marker decided to change his original decision not base on any reasonable logical, but based on massaging his own ego.

Thanks to Cascades for the good food and thanks to Bob for sharing his jokes.
