Report

Report:Parklangley's best looking and most lady pleasing team took the short trip down the road to visit our friends at David Lloyd.

Mike and Peter went on first at 5. Mike played very well with a good length and finishing points well with tight shots. Peter did rally in the third game but Mike kept his foot on the accelerator to send PL3 1 up.

Peter and Trev were playing on the court next door and it's fair to say Peter got utterly thrashed 3-0 by Trev... just joking Pete! An exceptionally close and high quality match brought the best out of both players. There were numerous turning points but Peter couldn't manage to grab a game and will be having nightmares for a while about Trevor's exquisite lobs. DL1 2-nil down.

Adam was in full control of this match, keeping the ball tight and deep. It looked like it was going the way of a 3nilling against the member of PL3 who most embodies the teams best looking and most lady pleasing mantra. However Kevin took advantage when Adam eased off in the first to nick a point. Normally service was resumed in the 4 and PL3 were now only 2-1 up.

Only saw the first of this but it appears Andy battled back well after going a game down to win with what looked like fairly convincing scores towards the end. 2-2

The match poised your scribe went for a post match shower and upon returning was informed he had missed a 5-game match. Post match comments where that Darren went for his shots, if they were up he won the game, if they weren't he lost it. Darren stuck by the rule that if you are going to alternate losing games with winning games it is better to win the first and duly brought PL3 to a much needed win.

A close and enjoyable encounter with game at 4 being the stand-out battle. We look forward to welcoming our friends in the return and another good game. Cheers
