Report: | Looked forward to welcoming Bromley LTC to our club and justifiably had a great nights squash.
First up were the 5's Darren and Terry.Off went Darren and for all intents and purposes this looked like a being one-horse race but Terry slowly came out of hibernation and so it started see-sawing backwards and forwards. By the time the fifth game arrived the smart money was on Terry, but point by point Darren got it back and came out the winner. Great game.
Peter and Keith started, two of the fittest men playing each other. I didn't actually seee any of this (marking)but did my roving reporter bit afterwards and spoke to Keith. Quite simple he thought,he commanded the T for the first two games but relinguished it for the final three.
Quite simple really. What though i could add is that if you look at the scores you can gradually see Peter catching up, and i think someone half your age will do that!.Well done both..
On went the ones, Ian unfortunately catching Joes backlash from having an injury from his previous game. Ian was just over-run and over-powered.
So with the fixture already won on went Terry and Nick. Another match i didn't see, but when two guys hit the ball like these two can do and going to five sets they obviously had a great game.
John v Ron, not to sure what really happened here but suffice it to say that whatever Ron wanted on the court John did not oblige. John played good tight text book squash and could'nt stop getting points. Ron perhaps still wondering about a previous injury. Still, good one John, made sure the 'raspberry ripple' didn't get a sniff.
So five love, but with 3 x matches going to five could have lost it - thanks again for great evening.
Ps - Keith please return locker key, sorry no souveniers allowed!!
