| Report: | I cannot stress enough how well our team played. Fitness First recent result of beating Dulwich 3-2 and losing 4-1 to us in the home match meant they were coming to us with a stronger side to turn us over. Sid said at their home he will keep the same side for the return match but in reality he could only field a stronger side in the form of Mo Soliman. Unfortunately for them they did not realise the resources of Park Langley. First match Andy Davies started of very well with the intention of keeping on top of Terry by positive play exceptional back hand boasts and strong overall game. Second match Simon Culver fresh back from his South American tour played the perfect tactical match against Joe mainly slowing the game down, good lobs and a hard driving game into the back hand section of the court. Third Match Michael started off exceptional ly well, went 8-2 up in the first and had a really long rally on game point, lost it and never really recovered. 4th match Simon started off in his normal way, gave away the first game which is always a good sign in the remaining 3 games he totally dominated the match. John was always on the receiving end of Simon’s tight drops and good length. 5th match David had a hard match in the away leg but in this match was totally dominate with his crisp volley drops and good tight length in both sides of the court. On the previous night Simon and Andy did 1 ½ hours racket work on what we thought was needed to win at 4 and 5. Once again hard luck Fitness First and well played Park Langley. |
