Report

Report:Parklangley's best looking and most lady pleasing team welcomed this season's luckiest competitors in Dulwich 2.

Mike and Nick went on first at 5 with Mike playing well taking a commanding lead and going 2up. Nick battled back well though upping the tempo and getting the ball past Mike to storm through and take the Match 3-2. Very enjoyable game with both players hitting good shots and retrieving impressively.

Darren vs Matt at 1 then went on and in a similar situation to the No5s PL went 2 up before succumbing 3-2. Another high quality game with a excellent array of winning shots on display from both competitors. Matt just getting over the line with both players puffing rather hard at the end (Darren of course had been puffing since 3-3 in the first)

Meanwhile Trev was dishing out a lesson to Ravi on the other court but a succession of lucky winners, frames and mis-hits saw Dulwich take the first. 7-2 up in the second Trev decided to show clemency to his elderly opponent and let him come back to take the second. Didn't see the 3rd but Trev's continued to play the beauty to Ravi's beast and allowed him a 3-0 victory. Another game keeping up the night's high standard, both players competing hard and showing some inventive shots.

Kev played Steve at 2. A close first was the end of the svelte Kevin who battled on in the 2nd and 3rd but Steve's retrieval was always just a bit to much for the female's favourite. His many fans going home unhappy while their hero gulped down great gasps of air, happily annoying the nearby tennis players.

Gerald managed to grab a match back beating Olly in a dead rubber at 3. A good close game was followed by a number of one sided affairs with Gerald emerging victorious. To busy gulping down great gasps of air to see much of it to be honest….

Another enjoyable evening with our visitors to PL. The stand of squash was high even if we were distracted by the shrieking children playing next door in Div 1. Hope to see you all back here soon and as we mentioned please keep us informed re your fundraiser for your glass-back court as we'll be sure to come down and support.

Cheers
