| Report: | a very close match indeed. Shame about our 4 & 5 Two young men slaughtered by two old men. The crafty old men of Bromley played lovely lobs and gentle length's, the 2 young Bexley played over hit and snatched their way all over the place. 2 easy wins for the old boys.
A super battle at 3 with christo coming back from 1-2 down to win a very tight 3-2.
Steve at 1 was too good for a gallant Ian who put up a good fight, a good game to watch.
At match all sq at 2-2 it was down to another old man v another young man. Clever Keith played sensible for a 2-0 lead 9-0 9-4. Paul dug in to pull back 9-0 9-4 same scores would you believe.
Keith then took charge in the 5th to go 8-4 match ball. Paul was having none of it and came back to 8-8. Keith managed one last serve at 8-8 but Paul had control and won 10-8 in the 5th to clinch the last match of the summer for Bexley. A super match to end the night. This Bromley team are a super bunch of lads and welcome any time at Bexley. I hope the pie & chips was nice, shame i had to go home. |
