Report: | Things were off to a close start with Tim once again showing command of the court against Graham, always a tricky opponent, while Mark was struggling from the off against Adam (Who? Ah, that rings a bell). For the umpteenth time this season Mark has had to play an opponent whose proper home is Divn 1, but he never gave up and the squash was of high quality and entertaining. Neil also looked as if all was going his way but he let Paul in and had to call on all his most deceptive shots to finish in four. On last week's form Ray could have taken Steve to five but it was not to be and Steve pressed home aggressively as Ray's cross-court drops deserted him. Finally, Dan and Kevin, carrying about 8 stone excess baggage between them, slugged it out, each showing flashes of brilliance interspersed with unforced errors and showers of expletives. Dan was made to work, but not hard enough as he knew what to do with most of the bad-length shots. The squash may have been patchy but the meal was something else, worthy of master chef - if not better. |
