| Report: | Revenge for Sundridge Park, led by a strong and uncompromising Matt at no. 5 against whom Tim had little defence. Ray was holding his own until Rich got into his stride and forced increasing errors. Mark and Richard had the night's longest duel, Richard seeming to tire but producing a new range of shots in the 5th, the first of which was a wrong-footing attacking backhand boast, beautifully executed. Mark fought on gallantly but it was to no avail. Paul had even less to show for his efforts against Andrew's relentless drives which, when combined with an uncanny reach, makes him such a hard player to beat. It was left to Brian to save a whitewash and he did so in style against Garth who was still recovering from his wine-tasting trip to S Africa. |
