Report: | Two terrific encounters at number 1 and 3 that I saw. I am told an equally big match at number 4 which I missed, but the 3-2 score speaks for itself.
The best I have seen Olly play for Dulwich saw him take his difficult opponent 3-1, having lost the first game. At number 1 both combatants were also at their best. The local boy however needed to win the third game and held the game ball, twice, only to be thwarted by some tremendous retrieving and returning to a length from Zeb who then easily took the fourth to win 3-1. Andrew Dawes beat Andy Davies 3-2 in a marathon, losing a couple of rackets on the way.
The rest went Park Langley's way. Michael Bennett playing poetic squash which we all wish we could do but can't, to beat Steve Harsum 3-0. The consensus is that when Michael is fit he is a class act and no matter how many times I mark or watch his matches I still cannot read his front court drop shots. Finally Ray at number 5 proved too strong for Nic and Nic's racket. Dulwich lost the match and three squash rackets.
We can look forward to the return. |
