| Report: | A funny old night.
Saun played well stepping up from the 4th team for a hard worked 3-0 at no 3.
Michael breen came with the wrong hat on and got slaughtered by young Nathan 3-0 at no 2 not nice to watch.
Rob lewis played his heart out losing 3-1 the 3rd game losing 8-10 was the crunch game.
Dean started well 9-1 then same old dean lost next narrowly 8-10 then 6-9 before fighting back 9-5 in the 4th then a superb 9-0 in the 5th.
Match score 2-2 and all down to the no 1's as it should be. A fantastic 5 setter going to Martin 9-4 in the 5th. Hats off to both players for playing total squash & not relying on strokes of any kind. Martin could have had 2 or 3 strokes in the 5th but pushed round steve to play the ball rather than relying on the marker. My kind of player and good to see proper squash not cheap calls for strokes.
Nice food served up a bit early upset the home team but a very enjoyable hospitable night. |
