Report

Report:Bexley All Stars vs Dulwich 3rds was no contest from the moment it emerged that a certain Mark Steeden was playing at no 4. Had Mark played at no 3 then that would have been an interesting battle, with Andy Moore returning after an 18 month layoff and Mark Steeden after a year with injury. Though having played Steeden it seemed as if he had never stopped playing. The difference between those guys who play regularly in division 1 and the rest of us was palpable.

In the meantime Olly lost 1-3 to Jack and Nic who developed a muscular problem in the seat of his pants lost 2-3 to Christo. Ben produced some marvellous entertainment and a bit of squash but once again Steve proved to be too strong.

The best squash though was the last game Man vs Machine or Andy Moore vs Ron Ganz, which Andy took 3-1. Ganz is physically powerful and impossible to read as he picks up every shot and returns fire with a short backlift and off the wrong foot. Andy showed that his silky skills are still there and the match fitness is slowly returning.

The horror that awaits other teams is that this wasnt Bexley's strongest side. If Dave Price played at no 1 then Steeden would be at no 5! I dont imagine there are too many teams looking forward to that.

An enjoyable evening nonetheless and a bowl of fish soup to finish with.
