Report: | Bexley were let down at 12.30 by their no 1 leaving me to draft in Michael breen at 1. His close game scores dont reflect his performance. He went down 1-5 or so in all games pulling back to 6-6 or 7-7 before his head went then gave away 2 or 3 stupid points. Not good to watch. His brother Jack at 2 had a better performance losing to steve shapiro 3-2 though jack,s head also went from time to time throughout his match and certainly in the last losing 9-0.
Best game of the night was the 3 strings our Ron Ganz v their martin winnick. A superb game of hard fought squash with no one giving a quarter. The best match of the night went to the home player 9-5 in the 5th. My son pulled in at 5 due to team injuries lost 3-0 & what i saw was same old Dean putting everything in the tin. Last up Mark steeden had no trouble with Ian armstrong 3-0 but Ian did not give up and fought mark all the way nearly nicking the 2nd game. If my 1 & 2 strings had fought like that all the way we may have nicked a 3-2 win.
Very nice food and drink good banter from a friendly bunch of lads, well done Dulwich 2. |
