Report: | A much closer match than expected here, with Cascades showing they can still play with the big boys....that's right, Bob turned up later.
Tony almost looked interested in the first game, but with Martin playing well, Steptoe struggled to stay in the game - looking forward to a rest for next season. Stimson is clearly becoming even more unbearable whilst continuing his purple patch, pulling another late victory out of the bag. Ian gained the moral victory though with some good humour and sportsmanly squash. Nick played well at 5, but struggled to make an impression on the score. Fatboy Stu amazed all with his comeback from major surgery and almost won his first match of the year, only to be cruelly (but fairly) beaten in the 5th - well played Stu.
Finally Sicknote continues to step up at 1 and had yet another 5 setter, with Andy running even more than he does. Apparently, I have been told it was like a carbon copy chasing around the court, but i think that might be unfair on Andy. Anyway - a close game once it got going with long rallies being decided in a tie-break in the 5th.
Excellent food and beers after - thanks guys, hope to see you next season! |
