Report

Report:Having been beaten the week before in the Superleague by PL, Bexley were looking for revenge. They knew however it would be a tricky match.

Charlie Watt stepped up to fill Darrens running shoes at 5 against Adam. A few minutes later, and 9-0 to Adam, it was not looking good. However Charlie raised his game and battled well win the 2nd comfortably. In the third and fourth Adam brought out some of those trademark tricky left-handed shots to win 3-1. A good match to watch

On the other court Rob took on Steve Pratt. A few minutes later again, we were at the drawing board again!! Rob, feeling that he was playing ok but somehow just not winning points!! Steve was moving well as usual and the nicks were flying in from all over the court. 9-1 9-3 9-3 the scores and Rob was left to dominate the bar instead!!

Next up Falla vs London Jr. Bexley's Steve, looking to improve on his 1 point from the last meeting. Improve he did, as always running well but PL Steve won it 3-0

Having lost the first 3 games already and only gained 1 point, the signs were there for a very bad result. Could we save a bit of pride?...

Matt vs Clive London

Dominant in the first game. Matt cruised to a 9-4 lead. However in the last couple of points picked up a niggle in his right leg. During the break, despite many contorted positions, the muscle seized up and couldn't be stretched. Clive quickly capitalised on "lame" Matt with some great cross courts and drops winning the next 2, 9-2 9-0. By that point Matt couldn't walk properly and was forced to retire....his weak body letting him down again. There were cries for him to be put down immediately but Rob needed a lift home so he was spared

Last up, Joss vrs Matt Gill

Joss to the rescue!!! Said it before but I'm gonna say it again. "Joss gets better every week". Excellent shots oozing out of him now...just the fitness to contend with. Joss won 3-0 against an out-of-sorts Matt. However, it was a tense 3rd game in which Matt started to find a bit of form as Joss' fitness was fading. Wondering whether I should curse him by defying anyone to beat Joss at 4 or 5 this season...maybe not as we need all the points he can get us

Bexley looking a little sorry for themselves with 2 injuries now. 17-5 the points, and maybe its time to bring in the big guns!!!
