| Report: | Following the devastating blow of receiving a 40 point fine after the last match, T.Wells had something to prove this evening. Would Captain John 'Buttocks' Lawton be missed? Hardly...General feeling is that he is surplus to requirements, and too keen to collect £10 off everyone as soon as they come off court :-)
Street and Ian first up...both looking very sharp, and in the mood for gaining back ill-lost points. Little trouble for either of them, maybe Ian's result would have been different if he hadnt dislocated Stefan's hip. T.Wells 2-up fairly quickly.
Mark and Gary next up against Simon and Richard. Very close tussle between Mark and Simon, with Simon looking strong in the decider. Gary did well to come back from the dead, complaining of a cold and knee problems at the end of the second which he lost 9/1, amazing what the appearance of women in the gallery can do to your game.
Steve and Garth went on with the match already 3-1 in T.Wells favour, although Garth seemed more interested in the wager that he had for staying on court. Some nice drops nearly allowed him to sneak the 3rd, but he had to make do with 3-0, 23 minutes, and £5 from the wager.
In the absence of captain Lawton the teams ran amock with the bar bill, queueing up to try the new Guiness Gizmo now on offer at the bar. Good food and company, good luck to Sundridge for the rest of the season...
