Report: | Blackheath came to Tunbridge Wells a little late (after 8:00pm), thought I would mention it, for the spirit of squash Tunbridge Wells decided to not claim 20 points........Wish we had now! After a warm to heated welcome the match got underway, first on was John and Roald, I was in no mood to hang around tonight so I could keep an eye on my team mates and Ireland v's Brazil, I scrapped home in 3, Roald never settled. Chris and Panji had a very good battle, tough first game which Chris won only to score 2 points in the following 2 games, Chris then dug deep past the several bottles of wine which had passed his lips last week on the piste, to win the match 3-2, very good result against an effective striker of the ball Panji. Steve was in the mood to come home in 3 until Andy decided he wanted to win, very good game, Andy attacking very early in each rally, Steve had slight calf trouble so crashed 3-1, well played Andy, Simo and Rich had a good old ding dong, battle of the backhands, could of gone either way, Rich winning 3-2. All down to the last, Streett and Phil, Phil playing controlled squash with Streett running hard, Phil had enough shots to win in 3, Streett should be fit for the last round without ear ache! So thats it, in the end we both enjoyed a good Squash evening with good food, well done to the team Blackheath, Well done to my team for a good effort and playing in the spirit of the game. |
