Report:A first for Olleys, and a last for Tucker …

Park Langely were the visitors on the night that Olleys fish restaurant proudly took over from ‘Brownsdon et al cooking incorporated’ in providing the fine food beneath the Giant Arches.

As always it was a stern test, with the new improved James leading the line. Despite suffering from a dance floor injury at Jason B’s stag do Tim started well enough taking the first. However, James bounced back making full use of his summers training, but then seemed to lose his way somewhat surprised by his ability to get to the ball! However, at 1-8 in the 4th, he mounted a fight-back before falling at the final hurdle to go down 9-7 in the fifth.

Paul started a little slowly trailing in the first to Clive, but once he got going was in unstoppable form with 24 points without reply from 3-7 in the first! Steve was clearly upset by the demolition job on his Dad, and seeked revenge over new boy Dom. A high quality encounter eventually saw the London family no.1 beat the Croatian country no.1 in straight games.

The Dulwich victory was secured by Will, clearly in buoyant mood after discovering the new food deal for the team he scorched to an early lead against old protagonist Gordon. However, he was reeled in quicker than the delicious Cod at Olleys and it was nip and tuck to 6-5 in each of the first two games before Will edged them both and then ran out a winner 3-0.

So with the win in the bag, it was left to Tucker to sign off his Priory career in style before heading back to Naval training (via Vegas) in the States. Quite appropriately given the likelihood he will end up in Afghanistan it was an epic war of attrition with Mark. The battle ebbed and flowed, with both players getting caught in no-mans land with shots down the middle before it reached a fitting conclusion with a frame from Tucker to seal the deal, and save himself a lifetime of email traffic.

The food as one would expect from ‘London’s most fashionable chippie’ was enjoyed by all and the lack of washing up was the icing on the cake!
