| Report: | Friendly match with our No. 1 team. Zeb playing Mark first 2 games Zeb found it difficult to cope with Marks touch game. Nice cut boast fore hand and back hand. Third game slowed down and played how he can play patient and waiting for the right opportunity. 4th held his own but lost in the last few points with nice touch points from Mark. Simon playing Gordon played excellent in the 2nd,3rd and 4th games in the 2nd game lost a string of points which we know he cannot afford to do. 3rd and 4th very tight but Gordon back hand drop proved precisive. Andy playing his old mate Adam, 1st 2 games very tight to 5 all, then Adam ran away with it. 3rd game the same, few mistakes by Andy wrong shot at the wrong time. Adam playing his usual game played precisive. Tom playing Steven. Steven is not the person you want to play on your first game back. Tom did not keep him under enough pressure and Steven crashing shots, leeft, right and centre. Game of the night Michael playing Clive. Clive lost his way at the end of the 1st, Michael hit some nice shots, Clive came back in the 2nd,3rd was pretty tight all the way through. Michael came back from 7/10 down to nick it 12.10. 4th game interesting. Michael was 10/5 up with steady squash, Clive won a point to 6/10 crept back to 9/10 Michael then cranked a nice shot off the frame to win a good match. Well played PL1 and the boys from PL2 especially Michael Bennett will have to be a candidate for player of the season. |
