Report: | Dulwich were missing their No.1 and Beckenham their 2 which probably evened things out at the top of the order.
I didn't see any of the 3's as I was on court but Matt a deserved winner by all accounts. The 2's was a good contest but Ian ultimately taking full advantage of Si's reduced mobility and running out a comfortable winner in the 5th.
Lee proved too much for David at 1, though a gallant effort from David who hadn't played in a fair while and probably had half a mind on his wedding on Saturday. Congratulations David!
Geoff was outpaced by James though may feel he should have snatched the second.
Last on was the dead rubber at 4 but after Cathy was comprehensively outplayed in the first she realised that Duncan may not have been as fit as her, if you like an understatement. Cathy proceeded to run Duncan to all corners of the court, retrieving most shots and always forcing her opponent to play one more shot. Comeback complete and a good 3-1 win. Duncan really didnt deserve the ensuing ribbing from his teammates as he's certainly not the first Dulwich scalp Cathy has taken.
A good night had by all but the performance of the evening was left to our resident chef. |
