Report: | Played two, won two. Congratulations to Dulwich 3rds for the squash they have played. It is heartening to see the depth in the club producing the tenacity shown by our 3rd team.
The third string match went on first and lasted close to ninety minutes. The fifth string an hour. Kendall made short work of Grinnell and Winnick the Dark Destroyer of Dulwich put paid to the svelte 3rd team skipper, Armstrong. It is official, Ian Armstrong has lost weight. Olly played tennis on the squash court and managed a win.
The rematch will regrettably see many on holiday but it is eagerly anticipated.
One thing is clear - the 3rds may be competing on the court but are yet to learn the finer art of cooking. We endured a main course of lasagne (or that is what it was said to be) cooked in the oven and finished in the microwave (as done in all the best Italian restaurants), garlic bread (just undercooked), a salad (delicious), raw carrots (novel - but perhaps there to improve Matt Noades' eyesight next time he marks a game), pizza (????!!!) followed by a chocolate cake baked by Messrs Sainsbury's(yum).
Oh yes - must not forget the bar - thank you for your hospitality chaps - but take it easy on the return! |
