Report

Report:Dulwich turned up for this final match of the summer needing twenty points to overhaul Park Langley to take second place. As Dulwich stroked their way into a 2-0 lead, news trickled in from the digital media that Park Langley had gained a further two points since finishing their final match. That of course made it impossible to overtake Langley. Where these points came from was anyone's guess. Some wag (in the Wise Auld Git sense rather than Wives And Girlfriends)suggested Santa had come early.

Mr Claus is probably still at home whilst Mrs Claus sorts out his wardrobe for his annual world tour to commence shortly. So no doubt there is a prosaic explanation for The Mystery of The Inflating Points.

What is clear is that this was a great match. Dulwich had won easily at numbers 4 and 5. The crowd were becoming restless. Whiteman in despair had even tried football of sorts at one point. Whilst this kicking was going on there was plenty of colourful language seeping through from the adjacent court as Lark of Lloyds fell prey to an attack that was clinical and architectural in its conception by Dawes of Dulwich. Snow beat Winnick, literally, as Winnick's testicles were tickled by a wayward racket during a rally, though two courts away it sounded more like a constipated elephant accidentally upending a tree.

It stood finely balanced at 2-2, as Grinnell and Gilmore slugged it out for the victory. The local boy came good. A fine match to end the season with. Dulwich ended third in the Division, our opponents on the night David Lloyd, fourth and congratulations to Bromley LTC for taking the gold medal.
