Report

Report:A first win for Bexley 2!
First up Mark vs Colin, with a ball that was flying around both players had trouble controlling it in the first, for the rest of the match there was a lot of anticipation from Colin and lots of movement from Mark, with the latter running out a comfortable 3-1 winner.
In the darkness of court 2 Steve was taking on TW new player Neil, another good game with Steve taking it 3-1.
Next up on 1 was Elliot vs globetrotting Paul, a furious pace was set by Paul with both trying to out hit the other, two games in and Paul was obviously better at the crash, bang, wallop than Elliot, after some much needed advice (hit it straight and tight) Elliot managed to squeeze the next 3 games from Paul in a very competitive match, much to the delight of Elliot’s travelling support (sometimes in the middle of rallies!).
Back over in the darkness was the forever student Danny vs Steve. Danny kept up a high pace with some good winners, in the end this was just too much for Steve with Danny winning 3-1.
Last up was the best match of the night with Matt taking on another new recruit for TW, Ryan, in contrast to the match before this was tight controlled squash with Matt just taking the first two games, neither player was making mistakes and after taking the 3rd Ryan looked to be the fitter of the two players. In between the 3rd and 4th games Steve W commented “Ryan only gets stronger after losing the first two games” to which Matt replied “thanks for that advice Steve!” This didn’t affect Matt though as he took the 4th and the match with some of his best squash for some time.
Great chilli and some great stories from Paul about some of the local delicacies he has sampled on his travels.
A nice 5-0 win and all players are confident going into the next match against Dulwich 1 and Mark, Matt and Steve looking forward to their first National club over 35 match vs Beaconsfield tonight.
