Report

Report:Happy New Year.
The early start to the New Year is always a good way to work off those mince pies.
Unfortunately for Bexley, Rodmersham had their ex no.1 back in action thus giving them a full strength team.
First up
John vs Elliot
Didn’t see much of this but john controlled the match with Elliot a little bit jaded with the sniffles and lack of match practise.
Next up Neil vs Mark
A very tough and fast paced match and up until Mark broke his beloved Jurassic hot melt pro racket in the 4th, after frantic searching for fellow Dunlop players he got stuck with a harrow (how Elliot plays with it I will never know!) 7 lost points later and the match was all but over when mark finally found another racket.
Tom vs Steve
this was a first game after Christmas match, both players not playing to their potential, in a match that could have gone either way tom just nicked it in the 5th (even though he won less points overall)
Malc vs Matt
a welcome back to the Bexley team to matt who had been on exercise in Burma, unfortunately I don't think they have any squash courts in Burma, and Malcolm is not the best player to come back to after not playing for 8 weeks, an easy 3-0 to Malc
Martin vs Jack
Didn’t see the first two games but the third looked good for jack, although somehow he managed to him himself with a serve! (Sorry Jack had to mention that) things were looking good in the 4th as well until a monster rally killed jack off with Martin running out a 3-1 winner.

A good competitive match with the usual good banter and Malcolm giving us a detailed account of his Christmas training regime, how his legs moved him around the court after all that training I will never know.
