Report: | On a bitterly cold December night, Dulwich 1 skated past an ever dangerous David Lloyd (Amida) side with a sunny Hawaii 5-0.
Paul’s diet of Foxes Glacier Mints has clearly put paid to his recent health concerns as he disposed of his namesake Paul in straight games before heading off to the Sunshine coast down under for some winter sun, and maybe a spot of cricket watching if the missus allows…
Old adversaries Tim & Guy played out their usual game of cat & mouse as Guy stood on the T and Tim tried to either thread the ball past or knock it over his head and under the icicles. Clearly the tactic worked as Tim gave Guy a snowman in the first on his way to a straight games win in 3.
Michael meanwhile was sliding around the court at his usual breakneck speed giving Mark little time ti settle or fire in his trademark x-court winners. Another snowman for the opposition in the first and the Dulwich man was on his way to a win.
Andy started like he was stuck in a drift falling 0-4 down to Stuart before his engine had warmed up, however, a bit of gas and he came past to nick the first. Stuart continued to chop the ball short and gave the home-side its first snowman in the second with some deft drops and volleys. The third was crucial with Andy recovering from 2-7 and 9-10 to edge it 12-10 before opening out a 9-1 lead in the fourth. Stuart rallied back to 6-10 but the promised 18-16 epic by his team mates failed to materialise as he served out!
Dave did enough by turning up to see of Gordon, who unusually wasn’t circling SE London looking for the club but was dealing with a boiler at home that had got bored of the Artic conditions and rather like the French gone on strike.
A good match, followed by the requisite Olleys Fish & Chips, lots of ice but no cream.
