Report

Report:After last weeks nightmare of christmas past we returned to the lovely home courts of bexley where you don't have to worry about doing the splits every time you lunge for a ball.

Elliot vs James 3-2 Robbins
Elliot has steadily turned into a proper squash player over the last few weeks and tonight was another example of that, after taking the first two though it was business as usual for James, moving the ball well and making Elliot chase hard, a well earned rest at xmas for James to rest his weary body and more court sprints for Elliot.
Mark vs Steve
A good competitive game played in good spirit with Mark hitting winners and Steve getting them back! A slightly subdued Steve went 2-1 down but came back strong in the 4th, at 7 all in the 5th it was anybodies game but 3 nicks and a tight wall shot later and it was Steve who took the match 3-2
Jack vs Martin
A close game with honours even after 2, after that Jack seemed to tire and only came alive when he was down in the 4th. I look forward to the rematch in the second half.
Shaun vs Trevor
Youth vs experience here and it was youth that came out on top, Shaun playing fantastic squash to win the 1st and then looked comfortable winning the match 3-0
Last up the match of the night.
Steve vs Clive "slow starter", "you can never come back in PAR" London
Straight out of the blocks Clive looked a certain winner after taking the first two games, after telling Steve that Clive had obviously "peaked early" Steve then took the next two games. And so to the 5th, Clive played like the first two games and was comfortably in control taking a 10-1 lead, after a very tough rally something happened to Clive that I have never seen before, he actually appeared to tire! gradually the points started to increase and before we knew it Steve was back in the game and after a much need break when the ball burst, he continued his good form getting back to 10 all and then taking the game 12-10!. I believe the score sheet has now been framed and is hanging in Steve's front room

Good chilli as usual and a very competitve match with Adam the no.1 team supporter

Off we go to Rodmersham next week for the final match of this half. I might even have a full strength team!
