Report: | First on court were Duncan M and Stuart, the first seeds proved to be the best match of the evening going all the way. Duncan took an early 2 game lead but Stuart slowly inched his way back into the match to level at 2 a piece. However, Duncan's summer triathlon training proved too much for Stuart in the end and Duncan finished off the marathon match clinically.
Alan and I had an enjoyable match with Alan proving tricky in the first and beginning of the second. A few errors on the backhand cross court drop towards the end of the second let me back in the match to finish off in 4.
A similar match took place between Duncan E and Pat but once Duncan found his width he never looked back.
Wild card Ian looked like he could have sneaked the 1st against Craig but in the end Craig outpaced Ian with not too much difficulty. Maybe Craig should be playing 1? Might we see a change of seedings come the half way mark?
Matt and Tony's game was short and sweet. Enough said.
Food was plentiful and served on time, matched with good company. We look forward to the second half. |
