| Report: | First on Keith v James both moved well around the court but Keith always had the upper hand. Shaun v Duncan, Shaun stormed the first two games but Duncan came back well in the 3rd but Shaun picked it up again in the 4th with some crashing drives. Ted v Dave, Ted was suffering from football exersions/injury but Dave failed to capitalise on this and kept giving Ted just enough to hit a winner however Dave did manage to get a game. Nick v Ian, Nick seemed to be doing most of the retrieving but forcing Ian into making one too many shots into the Tin when Nick wasn't coming up with his own winners. Finally Tubby having played over 1000 priory matches v Priory debutant Alex. On a cool court Tubby went for drop shots and disguise which worked for the most part but every now and then Alex played his own drops this made it a very good match the key probably being Tubby coming back from 8-5 down in the 2nd to win it 10-8. However Alex got the upper hansd again in the 3rd and this time closed it out. But Tubby was not done yet and the 4th was neck and neck until Tubby got the serve back at 6-5 and closed out the last 3 points. A good evening with a good bunch of guy's. |
