good to see Martin Rintoul back with a racket in his hand after a long lay off, just easing ready for next season.
Martin had to rely on racquet skill alone for this one but this wasn't Quite enough to beat Adam who is just a little bit fitter.........and younger!! no pun intended ha. Adam took the match 3-2 with the fifth at 8-3 to Martin this looked like our win but then Martins legs turned to jelly and that was that.
Tom was on top form again and Martin didn't have anything in the bank to combat that so 3-0 to Tom.
Stewart V Nathan Well the money was on Nathan here being younger fitter and quicker but Stewart rose to the challenge and was 'on it' from the start and from the small amount I saw didn't let Nathan control the match at all apart from a spell in the second but not quite enough and experience won the day. 3-0
Graham (chopper) v Pete Graham's never beaten Pete so here was one to win. Since Grahams arm injury the chopper part of his game has had to take a back seat and fair to say has improved his game so much so that Pete didn't get going. 3-0 to Chopper.
Big Andy V Toby
I ventured on court with a cracked rib fearing the worst, maybe it made me play with a little more thought. The first game was not the best squash ever seen but it seemed to improve after that, after scraping the first I seemed to get it together and took the next two fairly comfortably, due to the awkward style no doubt, Adam did mention I was a nightmare on court, rather harsh I thought.
A good match and nice bunch of fellas and great food. |
