| Report: | Two teams both struggling in the bottom three. This was always going to be a tight and stressful night. At first Old Elts looked to be struggling with Bob losing to Mike at 1 for the first time ever, and Mike loved it, same couldn't be said for Bob. Tim was two games down to Gareth and looking defeat in the face. After throwing his toys out of the pram he knuckled down and played a great length game to take the next three. Next on was Ian vs Pat, Ian had been warned of Pat's unorthodox game but simply had no answer to a very impressive Pat who won in three as quick as Chris and Mehmet were warming up. Chris beat Mehmet fairly comfortable at Old Elts but this time it was a very different Mehmet who dug in and dispatched an ever tiring Chris 3-1. Last on Peter vs Steve, with the match won everybody just wanted to go to the pub but Peter and Steve had other ideas, much to the annoyance of the watching teams. Rally after rally seemed to go on forever until eventually Steve won 3-1. So a good win for Old Elts and a very enjoyable evening was had by all when we finally got to the pub. Quite what Wildernesse thought of Steve's never ending knob gags we will never know but they seemed to take it in good spirit and even tried to poach him to play for them or maybe it is for his entertainment value they are after. |
