| Report: | First to go on was Tim vs Graham, and Pat vs Steve. Tim from the off looked too sharp for Graham on the night and won 3/1. Pat struggled to get any rhythm and went 2 down against Steve. But then started to read Steve's drops and won the next 2. The fifth could have gone either way but in the end Steve clinched it. Mehmet vs Tony, a hard fought game in which Mehmet played some good squash and matched Tony at times. However Tony is a hard competitor, his more consistent and reliable game won it in 3. Steve vs Dan, two players with totally contrasting styles. Dan is a very stylish player whereas Steve is a bull of a man and always gives it his all. But on the night as hard as Steve tried Dan always just had the edge and won in 3. Last game of the night Bob vs Nick, Bob won the first two games while Nick seemed quite happy to have a chat at every opportunity. With Nick 2 down he finally decided to stop talking at the same time as Bob strained his back or maybe it was his ears. Nick won the next three while Bob struggled on hoping to win that elusive last game. As usual a great night of squash and beer was had with Bromley CC. Nick was the last to leave of the Bromley boys as he was intent on entertaining what remained of Old Elts and we thought Steve could talk! |
