Report: | This was always going to be a tough one for Biggin.Jessica and Sandie were beaten by more experienced players although for a brief while we thought Jessica was going to pip the third game. For Helen it was deja vu with Diane whose unique style -forehand return of serve on the backhand and double handed backhand cross court drop shots-power and reach were all too much and Diane had an easy win.Vanessa was beaten by another powerful player although the first 2 games could have gone either way. This game in particular raised some of the finer points of marking -can someone put up the lates ruling on turning on the website please? The night was at least salvaged and revenge taken by Claire for her pre-Christmas defeat by Lizzie. It was a superb game with Claire's experience winning over the rather natural, casual style and lapses of concentration exhibited by Lizzie.Incidentally Lizzie's game has improved vastly since she realised how much her legs can move!! |
