Report

Report:Tough night for Bexley 2nd team as Dulwich had to use Bexley local Jason Barry as a replacement for the injured Steve Shapiro. Bexley were also short a player as Tom had a near fatal Basketball (yes, I know he’s not tall enough) injury on Sunday night. Unfortunately Dulwich had snapped up all the locals so Rob stepped into the breach.
Duane vs Tim, usual quality match with Tim floating and boasting the ball nicely moving Duane around, after 3 games this didn’t appear to be working as Duane led 2-1 so Tim had to up the pace, Duane also upped his pace (for 4 points) but suffered for it! Tim ran out a 3-2 victor in a very competitive match.
Matt vs Humberto, both players started loose but got into it quickly and Matt played well and stretched his legs in the 5th to take it 3-2. A nice sharpener for the forthcoming island games!
Mark vs Jason, fast pace match and Mark could have sneaked the first after having a game ball but after taking it 10-8 Jason eased away taking the match 3-0
Steph vs Andy, at 8-2 up in the first Steph looked in control killing Andy with her trademark drops and boast’s, Andy then woke up and upped the pace to take the next 8 points and the next two games.
Rob vs Will, good quality affair with Rob looking ever sharper as the weight is decreasing, unfortunately for him Will is pretty sharp round the court himself. After having game balls in both the first and second games and failing to capitalise rob finally took the 3rd, unfortunately Will came back with vengeance in the 4th to take it 9-0 and the match 3-1.

The food was great with some salad for the healthy types amongst us and the after match banter was concentrated on leg size, mainly how Will’s are bigger than mine (didn’t help you last time we played though) and the amount of time and money to spend on a first date.
Also in future weeks watch out for the after eight challenge and the most Ferrero Rocher eaten in a minute world record attempt by Ted (7 in case you are interested)
