Report: | Another full strength team for the Bexley 2nd's to play (must be the food) and another week without our number one who really did have a near fatal basketball accident.
With the Introduction of old man scoring (In division 1 DC) we would be lucky to finish before 11.
Matches started right on time.
First up Jack vs Jonny and Duane vs Jolyon. Both matches went over an hour and both went down to the wire, Jack and Jonny started a bit loose with the nice warm courts but they soon tightened up and there was cross court nicks and skid boast rallies from both. Both looked tired after 3 games but it was Jonny who had extra in the tank to just nick it 9-7 in the 5th. Didn’t see much of the other match but by the look of them after it was a brutal game with Jolyon gaining his first ever victory against Duane.
Next up Mark vs Colin
Usual affair between these two, Colin anticipating well and Mark (back after a near fatal football injury) chasing everything down. A short but entertaining match with Mark taking the 5th even after Colin’s shouts of encouragement at 8-1 down.
James vs Paul
Good match with both players moving well, James was just a little faster and younger! Scores were close in each game up to 3-3 with James then moving ahead pressuring Paul well.
Last match.
Gary vs James
Another long match, James was moving well for someone who had been injured and Gary didn’t look like he was going to tire either. After Gary took a tough first, James’s speed was the difference for the rest of the match and he closed it out 3-1 giving Tunbridge the victory 3-2
Pasta, salad and garlic bread for dinner and much blame was placed on Tunbridge wells (floating voter) for the late finish.
