Report

Report:With 75% of the top order away on holiday it was always going to be a tough night for Bexley and to top it all Bromley turned up with their strongest possible team, as I have mentioned before, our food must be gaining a reputation for being pretty good!
First up on some nice bouncy Bexley courts
Dean vs Gordon
Fresh from a nice relaxing break in Ibiza, this was going to be a tough one for our 4th team captain Dean, having said that he played the best I have seen him play in the 1st and with Gordon slow off the mark he took it 9-5, I missed the rest of the match but by all accounts Gordon warmed up and this put Dean under pressure causing a few more mistakes. 3-1 to Gordon.
James vs Ket
Fast competitive match with Ket making fewer mistakes than James, both had periods of dominance but Ket was just to steady for James in the end. 3-0 Ket
Steph vs Shil
Didn’t see much of this but Steph had a nice tan. Unfortunately this didn’t help her as she went down 3-0
Mark vs Ted
After some early evening racketlon practice (Table tennis and Tennis) Mark went 5-0 down with some long rallies (no surprise there), after weathering the early storm from Ted Mark got into the game and eventually took the first 10-8, after this Mark took the next 2 games comfortably to take a nice 3-0 win (unheard of!), some might say that Ted injured his ankle at the end of the 1st but I think it was at 8-4 down in the 3rd ;-)
Gary vs Rob
After a late night dash from the other side of London it was up to Gary to grab some more points for Bexley, a tough match which could have gone either way, but Gary just had too much in the tank in the 5th.

Good chat will Ket and Shil after the match and much discussion about the impending 3rd vs 4th team match tonight at Bexley, obviously the food was great, plus we had cheesecake for dessert!. Shame half of the BLT team disappeared and missed out, no world Ferrero rocher world record attempt either as Ted went awol, shame on you Ted plus I left them at the club, rubbish!
