Report: | It was always likely to be a troublesome night at Dulwich with Bexley IIs a tough nut to crack given their strength in depth. Will was first in court taking on Mark in an eagerly anticipated encounter after some pre-match email chat. Playing some of his best squash ever Will nicked the first and then mugged Mark in the second. After a carefully planned rest game, Will came out in the using his racket far more freely than the local constabulary and took the fourth to bag another scalp after Mr Lennox last week.
Barrister Ian RG was a late call up to the Dulwich mob, but put Lee to the sword in less time than it would than he would able to charge out 2 units of time. Having a smashing time, literally smashing it, he romped his way in straight games to set up a home win. This was duly signed and sealed despite Tim coming out of the blocks slower than the PM returned home from holiday, and found himself 1/8 down in the first. However, Tom’s two week holiday to Las Vegas (yup, two weeks – no one does that, do they?) started to kick in and Tim got out of jail edging it 10/8 and closing out the match three nil.
Having been sentenced to defeat, Bexley II fought back first through Duane who saw off the challenge of Dulwich number 2 Andy and then Gary who served a kettling and saw off Dave in four games. Unlike previous encounters Dulwich certainly didn’t run riot and will have walked away happy with a tight win.
Olleys fed and the club watered (and more) everyone, and the only disappointment (apart from for MarK) was that Will was unable to bask in the glory having a prior engagement and had to shoot off before explaining how he had administered a good beating.
