| Report: | An appalling start to the season for Claire against a super fit Helen. Vanessa's turn to win against Carole (revenge for last season) and Helen fought a tough battle with Dorothy but managed to sneak home. Jess put up a good fight against Glenda but the years of experience told. Our newest recruit, Sandie, was thrown in at the deep end, having just arrived at the club after a swift introduction to us all, and then having to face another youngster in Elizabeth Ashworth who had been warming up on court for the previous half hour. Not a good sign when your opponent is raring to go having got their eye in. Sandie inevitably lost but survived the nerves and at least managed a big smile when she came off court. Not the start we wanted but lots of room for improvement. |
