| Report: | Before the evening began this match had the look of a 3-2 either way. First on Tim vs Kim and myself vs Robert. Didn't see much of Tim's game as I was too busy trying in vain to work out Robert's serve. Needless to say Tim and myself both lost 3-0. Not a good start for Old Elts to say the least but it was the beginning of a fight back. Mehmet always had the edge against a hard trying Richard and won 3-0. Bob having lost the first two games came back strong against Stefan but to many errors in the fifth gave Stefan the win. Going on at the same time on the other court was Steve vs Jon. Both these players gave 110% in effort but with Jon getting more and more frustrated the game swung Steve's way. Good banter in the bar afterwards went some way to cheering Old Elts up and we are already looking forward to the return match. Next week Poult Wood, looks like it could be tough. |
