Report: | The points don't tell the whole story as there was some hard and very enjoyable matches on the night. First on Justyn v Ashley, this was a match that swung both ways with both players dominating the games they won, the tightest game was the fifth in which Justyn had match point but just couldn't finish Ashley off. Steve v Stuart was an exhausting game to watch let alone play, maybe if Steve had managed to win the third on a tie-break the result could have been different but again both players gave it their all. Tim was always going to find Peter hard work as Peter must be one of the best number five's in the div 4 and could easily play higher up in the order. Likewise Bob v Ben was always going to be hard for Bob as again Ben must be one of the best number one's in Division 4.Last game of the night and surely the best Mehmet v Jake, Jake may have won in three but Mehmet matched Jake for the vast majority of the match and both players looked thoroughly exhausted by the end. We wish Poultwood all the best as they try and close the gap on Tunbridge Wells in second place and look forward to playing them in the Winter. |
