| Report: | Yet another 3-2 defeat for Claire which made the difference between winning and losing the overall match. Ann and Claire have always had tough matches in the past generally going the distance. This time it was Ann who went off like a rocket for the first two games. She then appeared to go off the boil and Claire managed to slow the game down to take the next two. However, Ann managed to recharge her batteries and after a closely fought battle ended up winning the fifth and rightly so.
Vanessa versus Kate was always going to be a fierce match and Kate seemed to have wound herself up before she even played. However, Vanessa was exceptionally calm on court and apart from one outburst from Kate when she accused Vanessa of making the marker's decisions for her (not true - I was marking), the match went Vanessa's way from playing some good squash. I didn't see Helen's game or Sandie's and although Jess only got a couple of points in her match, she played reasonably well, had some good rallies but Sue always ended up winning them. |
