Report: | The Priory winter season kicked off a little later than most leagues, but thankfully before the clocks changed but guess it’s only a difference between knight and day. First up for Dulwich was the kid’s with no home, David Lloyd. When they stop throwing their toys about in the squash court crèche apparently the club will build them two new play-pens. However, it’s a risky business to take the DL crew lightly and they weren’t.
Top gun Tim took on wild Jamie at one, and as always Jamie came out all guns blazing. Tim was a little slow out of the blocks and soon found himself a game down as the DL1 leapt around the court finishing the first with a high overhead cross-court. However, the Dulwich captain soon restored order levelling things without dropping a point and then pushing on to close things out in four.
Will had questioned the need for a strong line up earlier in the day, but soon found that Martin at 5 was no walk in the park. Sporting his film star buffoon, Will had to work hard to see off the DL5 in straight games and then declared that he was over it and it is hair cut time tomorrow.
Paul looked to have mission impossible when the team-sheets were handed in with a big tall Guy standing in the way victory but he started brightly and finished better, proving that reducing the daily double digit crisp/chocolate combo can work wonders. So the victory was sealed and it just needed the white-wash to be completed.
Sadly, no-one had told the away team as Tony put in an inspired performance and had all the right moves to see off Humberto and while Andy looked in control against Paul before losin’ it in five.
Afterwards there was plenty of chat as Olley’s finest fish and chips were devoured, Paul wanted Will to ‘show me the money’ over a bet on whether Strike Back: Project Dawn was the second series, Martin didn’t want to get Spooked and find out what happens at the end and Will is still saving for his dream date even though in the right light he does get mistaken for Tom Cruise.
